Rusty Treasure canvas

I'm back again today with a reverse canvas I just finished. Finnabair's new Rust Paste set is just amazing and as you can see I got a little crazy with it here! I absolutely love how this turned out with all its rusty texture.

The heart is from Sandra Evertson's Relics & Artifacts line, this is one of my favorites. I covered it with IndigoBlu Mega-flake in Royal Peacock and also some copper Dresden trim. The jewels are Finnabairs Melange pebbles that I painted, those and the heart reminds me of "diamond in the rough". Like beauty rising out of the old and rusty :)

This is how it looked when I was adding Finnabair's Art Stones and Mini Art Stones and then I coated them with the Rust Paste.

Let me know what you think!

Blue Fern Studios March Challenge

Hello all, I'm back with another layout, this time for Blue Fern Studios!
I fell in love with their paper collections immediately, they're some of the most intricate and beautiful designs I've ever seen, not to mention the quality of the papers are outstanding!
It was hard to break into my coveted stash of chipboard for this layout-I've been collecting it more than using it hehe :)

I love the design of this layout and I think I've recreated it pretty well, I had a lot of fun working on this using a lot of "springy" papers and embellishments. I used Concert Hall from the Courtship collection as well as Floral Lattice Bits chipboard and some Screen Panel chipboard.

I tore strips of new and old Blue Fern Studios paper and layered them up, then I stamped with Arcadia Textures stamp set. There's bits and bobs and flowers that I lightly colored with watercolors and then I made myself stop while I was ahead!

I thoroughly enjoyed making this and I hope you all enjoy it too! Here's to spring and warmer weather!

Thanks for stopping by,
Rachael

Prima's March PPP Challenge

Hello, I'm back with my latest piece that I am entering into the Prima monthly challenge!
This was a difficult one for me as green is one of my least used colors (unless I am mixing it with blues and teals :).

Here is a short explanation of how I created this:

I started with a blank manila tag that I stenciled with Prima Modeling Paste mixed with Finn's texture powder. I love this stuff! It makes the perfect gritty paste but is fine enough to stay creamy and easy to spread.

After it dried I gave it a coat of white paint as the texture powder dries to an off-white color, and then I sprayed with Lindys Starburst sprays. I stamped with two Finnabair stamps (one older, one new) and then attached the tag to some background paper I had already distressed and inked.

I made some new embellishments using the new IOD moulds and paperclay, these are absolutely beautiful and full of intricate detail! When it was dry I painted it with Finns emerald green paint and then lightly brushed with the Vintage Rose paint. Lastly it got a few swipes of gold wax paste.

The "Hope Always" was actually cut from old Prima packaging (I hoard literally EVERYTHING)! Some old and new Prima flowers and Melange art pebbles that I painted gold round out the tag, as well as a tiny certificate I cut from the new Paintables pad and lightly colored with the Tropicals Watercolor set.

Thank you so much for stopping by, see you all soon!
